Tested in the harshest Australian conditions

The IS 250C has proven its worth in the harsh conditions of the Northern Territory. During a development testing program in early 2008, Lexus' engineering staff conducted durability tests on roads between Alice Springs and Darwin to analyse and measure dust intrusion, air conditioning and roof functionality. The tests resulted in a convertible with unparalleled dust sealing and roof performance.

Flowing body design and alloy wheels

With its distinctive L finesse design, the IS 250C delivers impressive aerodynamics for low drag coefficient and a quiet cabin. Low profile tyres add to dynamic styling and impressive cornering. The exterior of the Prestige model is complemented by unique 17 inch 10 spoke alloy wheels, while the Sports and Sports Luxury models feature alloy wheels with an 18 inch five spoke design.

Smart Key Card with push button start

The IS 250C Sports Luxury comes with a hands-free Smart Key Card, which allows you to unlock and lock doors and start the engine with the touch of a button, without removing the card from your pocket or bag. When the proximity sensor detects the presence of your uniquely coded Smart Key Card, the door unlocks as soon as you touch the handle. All models come with two Smart Keys, which similarly allow you to unlock the door while the key remains in your pocket.

Self-dimming mirrors

The exterior mirrors on IS 250C models feature turn indicators and a sleek, aerodynamic look which reduces wind noise. On the Sports Luxury, the Electro-Chromatic mirrors automatically dim when they detect excessive light, such as the glare of headlights from following vehicles. Glare reduction can also help reduce driver fatigue.

Intelligent front and rear lighting

The IS 250C Sports Luxury includes Daytime Running Lights which make the vehicle more visible to other drivers and pedestrians while the powerful High-Intensity Discharge headlamps give you greater night vision. The rear tail lights incorporate LED lamps that illuminate faster than conventional tail lamps, so when you apply the brakes, drivers behind you are alerted sooner.

Adapt to the weather conditions

Intuitive rain sensing wipers on the Sports Luxury model turn on automatically when water is detected on the windshield.

Exceptional instrumentation visibility – day and night

You'll be able to read the Optitron instrument panel with exceptional clarity, even in the harshest direct sunlight. It includes a visual display of the roof's open/closed status and displays a warning if the roof isn't completely opened or closed, and also when an object is too close to perform the opening and closing operation.

Boot-loads of room

The Lexus IS 250C is the only vehicle in its class to accommodate a full-size (nine inch) golf bag with the hardtop stowed and the luggage cover in place. With the roof down, it offers 205 litres of storage space, which grows to 553 litres when the roof is up - equivalent to two full-size golf bags and two 77 litre suitcases.

Heated leather-accented front seats

On cool days and when the roof is lowered, heated front seats in the Prestige and Sports models will keep you warm. The Sports Luxury model comes with the all-seasons comfort of heated and ventilated front seats, which also keep you cool in summer. Ten-way power adjusted front seats let you select your optimum seating posture, while the memory function in the Sports Luxury allows you to recall your preferred seat, exterior mirror and steering column positions at the touch of a button.

Advanced Climate Control

The IS 250C features a custom designed air conditioning system, which constantly maintains temperature levels regardless of whether the roof is open or closed. The system features a speed-sensitive 'Open' mode, which monitors and alters the climate when the roof is open. The smog ventilation sensor will automatically change the air intake to 'recirculate' if it detects high levels of air pollution. An easy-to-replace pollen filter also helps keep the air clean and clear.

Satellite navigation and touchscreen control

The prime information resource in the IS 250C is the seven inch LCD touchscreen display, located in the centre console. DVD-based Satellite Navigation1 is included as standard, efficiently guiding you to your destination with voice prompts and points of interest. Whenever reverse gear is engaged, images from the Rear View Camera2 are displayed on the LCD screen, with parking reference lines that overlay the Rear View Camera footage to help guide you safely into place.

Welcome to your open air concert

The Mark Levinson audio system available with the IS 250C Sports Luxury is designed to overcome acoustic weaknesses commonly associated with convertibles. When the top is lowered, the equaliser automatically adjusts to compensate for road and wind noise, especially the bass tones, which are often lost during open air driving.

Premium Mark Levinson audio system

Audio technology specialist Mark Levinson partnered with Lexus to design the audio system in the IS 250C Sports Luxury, which comes with 12 speakers and a six disc CD/DVD changer. Audio controls are conveniently located on the steering wheel, while a USB connector allows you to play audio from selected flash memory drives and iPods®3 using the LCD touchscreen. The Prestige and Sports models include a premium 8 speaker audio system with a six disc CD changer.

BluetoothTM mobile connectivity

The steering wheel incorporates controls for the audio, BluetoothTM4, cruise control and Multi Information Display. BluetoothTM mobile phone connectivity allows for hands-free communication. You can make phone calls by using the steering wheel controls with voice activation. You can also load and display the phone address book with your contacts on the LCD screen.
