Elegant L finesse design

The RX 450h showcases the second generation of the Lexus L finesse design philosophy. The result is a covetable SUV that turns heads wherever it goes. Its aerodynamic shape is designed to reduce drag and minimise cabin noise, ensuring a smooth and refined ride under all driving conditions. On sunnier days, in the Sports and Sports Luxury models, you can open the power operated moonroof for extra ventilation and open air cruising.

Smart Key Card for easy entry

The hands-free Smart Key Card that comes with the Sports Luxury model allows you to unlock and lock doors and start the engine when your foot is on the brake pedal - without removing it from your pocket or bag. As soon as the proximity sensor detects the presence of your uniquely coded Smart Key Card, the door unlocks when you touch the handle. The card also activates an illuminated entry sequence. A conventional key is also enclosed for emergency use.

Smart lighting for better visibility

The RX 450h's High-Intensity Discharge headlamps provide a whiter, broader spread of light for better visibility at night. The lights automatically adjust their level to ensure they're pointing in the right direction even if you're carrying a heavy load. The Adaptive Front-lighting System on the Sports Luxury swivels the headlamps when travelling around tight bends to greatly improve forward visibility - it's the next best thing to seeing around corners. The Sports Luxury model includes LED low beam headlamps, which use less power and are designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle.

Mirrors and cameras to see around corners

The exterior mirrors provide an expansive view of the area behind you. Large indicators have also been incorporated in the mirrors to help other motorists see you. The Prestige and Sports models feature self-dimming exterior mirrors, which reduce the annoyance of headlamp glare from following traffic. These mirrors are heated, activating whenever the rear demister is turned on. The Sports Luxury model also features a wide-angle side camera built into the left exterior mirror. When you're parking, the LCD screen displays an expansive view of the area to the left of the vehicle, for easier manoeuvring.

Distinctively hybrid

The RX 450h features a range of distinctive design elements including a unique front bumper and silver grille design, blue accents on the headlight and taillight lenses, and a unique fog light surround design. The elegant blue highlights also appear on the Lexus emblem, vehicle badging, engine cover, key fob and a chrome side strip that features the word 'HYBRID'.

Welcome aboard

As you approach the vehicle after dark, a puddle of light beneath each exterior mirror illuminates your path. Then as you step inside, a choreographed lighting sequence guides your way and provides a warm welcome.

Lexus Remote Touch – control at your fingertips

The Lexus Remote Touch controller puts key vehicle functions at your fingertips. Similar to a computer mouse, you can access up to 20 functions on the LCD screen in the centre console. For instance, you can plot your route on the Satellite Navigation system with just a few clicks. The screen uses Organic Light Emitting Diode technology to ensure brilliant readability in all light situations, even glare from direct sunlight, fog or snow.

Satellite navigation as standard

An advanced DVD-based Satellite Navigation3 system is standard across the RX line. It guides you to your destination with visual maps or spoken commands, so getting lost isn't an option.

Enhanced climate control

The RX 450h's climate control system includes a humidity control sensor to quickly create the perfect cabin temperature. Its unique electric compressor operates seamlessly with maximum efficiency. Whatever the conditions outside, you can be sure the temperature is just right inside the Lexus RX 450h.

Memory settings

The driver and front passenger seat in the Sports Luxury, and the driver's seat in the Prestige and Sports, feature power adjustment options and three memory settings, which allow you to recall your preferred seat position. In addition, the driver can control the exterior mirror and steering column position at the touch of a button.

The comfort of heated and ventilated seating

All RX models feature leather-accented interiors. The Sports Luxury model also features heated and ventilated front seats, to keep you refreshed on long hot journeys and warm on winter days.

A new standard in crystal clear audio

The RX 450h Prestige and Sports models include a 12 speaker Lexus premium sound system. The Sports Luxury model features a 15 speaker, 7.1 channel surround sound system created by renowned audio designer Mark Levinson. Speakers have been placed in symmetry across the cabin. Higher mounted front tweeters and newly added rear door speakers create a crisp listening experience. Both systems feature an in-dash six disc CD player that can play MP3 and WMA files from CD-R and RW disks, 3.5mm AUX input for portable audio players and USB input for selected iPod®2/USB memory sticks.

Innovative displays keep your eyes on the road

In the Sports Luxury model, a Head-Up Display positions key information on the windscreen just above the instrument panel. You can view your speed, Satellite Navigation3 directions, audio settings and Pre-Collision safety System brake warnings without having to take your eyes off the road. A button on the steering wheel controls the Multi Information Display. It informs you of key vehicle functions such as what gear you're in, fuel consumption and other key data, in a concise, easy to read format.
